Abstract
These comments support an advance notice of proposed rulemaking by the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) on heat injury and illness prevention in outdoor and indoor work settings. The comments emphasize the importance of this initiative in combatting extreme heat, the most lethal climate disaster of our time, and specifically encourage OSHA to utilize this rulemaking to ensure that its workplace heat protections extend to incarcerated workers in federal prisons and federal corrections officers, drawing from a Sabin Center report.
